T U S C A N Y

Driving into and over the Tuscan hillside is like entering another world. A charming hotel, antipasta by a beautiful pool, fruit trees, an outdoor cooking class, and a little tractor slowly going up and down the neighboring hill harvesting hay greeted us upon arrival.
We spent a great deal of our time in Tuscany simply staring and breathing in the sweet Tuscan air. The sense of wonder induced by the all the flowers, fruit trees, herbs, hillside views, and gorgeous sunsets was a restful and refreshing experience like none other.

Behold, the sweetest smelling jasmine plant known to man.
A welcome setting for dinner with friends.

We loved lounging outside after returning from our daytrip to Florence. It was the perfect temperature and there wasn't a mosquito to be found! These two Texans were in heaven.
Our group learning to make gnocchi from scratch and enjoying a Tuscan feast together!

Our travel group was friendly from the start, but Tuscany was where we really started to bond. 3 hour long dinners, endless bottles of wine, learning about each other's families, beautiful music, and spontaneous dancing helped us become the little family we turned into. After our second patio dinner accompanied by a stunning guitar and vocalist duo, our group was yelling, "Buona Notte!" to each other and cracking last minute jokes on the way to our rooms like we were buddies at camp. It was hard to believe we were only 5 days in at this point!

Quick dip in the pool.

Arbiatta, angry pasta!

This duo was truly so talented! They had our group singing along with them (thank you Dean Martin) and everyone was so impressed by them. I asked if there was an Italian version of The Voice competition and we tried to convince them to go on it! Perhaps most memorable was the fact that they weren't even supposed to be performing together, they were accidentally double booked! They usually perform alone but decided to both stay and perform together for the first time that night...magic!
Alright, I suppose we have to move on from Tuscany at some point. Farewell, my love!
